Incredible culture in the high arctic

Longyearbyen, the administrative home seat in Svalbard, is located on the biggest island called Spitsbergen, 78 degrees north. The city is today a vibrant Arctic metropol with a population of 2100 people from over 40 nations.

A brief history of the music festival

The very first Arctic Chamber Music Festival was arranged in February 2018, featuring musicians from the Arctic Philharmonic as the basis of the festival, performing in various formats together with an array of talented guests.
